  They shut off my electricity and once all my bills were paid they did not turn on my power in a timely manner, it is overpriced, badly run and a bad company overall. I've been sweating for 3 hours now waiting for my power to come back on however the company is so badly run they don't have enough people to re connect your electric bill before everything in your freezer is ruined. My dog is currently gulping down water begging to get any kind of cool however that is not possible because even after nearly 4 hours waiting they do not know when my power will be restored.

  Can someone get rid of this company already?!?! My bill has jumped over 100 dollars in the past month because "LP&L started their summer rates" what kind of BS is that?! They recommended that i keep my thermostat at 78 degrees...... REALLY? I have small children and cant keep our house at almost 80 degrees.

  They are supposed to have someone come read the meter once a month but that definitely doesn't happen even of their records show someone came. I'm not sure if this is a problem with the meter readers or LP&L not sending people. Either way, I've gotten over charged numorous times for water and while they issue a refund, it's only for the water portion of the bill, not for the sewage which is calculated from the water usage. For that they told me I have to file a grievance with the city because they're just the biller. If the meter would have been read correctly the first time by LP&L, I wouldn't need to. I don't even need to talk about unit price changes as plenty of other people have gone into that. I've dealt with utilities in other cities and nobody I've experienced is anywhere near as bad as these guys. They have the worst reviews and still do nothing about it because they have a monopoly. WE NEED UTILITY COMPETITION IN LUBBOCK. That and/or a class action lawsuit against LP&L or the city (whomever is truly at fault) needs started.

  If only they had a little competition, then this company would actually have TRY to make their customers happy. Not even worth the one star but 0 stars wouldn't get me a chance to review. Thermostat was set at 75 all summer; I was sweating in shorts and a tank in my own home. My bill was STILL $500 for 3 months in a row. No joke! When I called to ask for someone to be sent out to look at my meter and the energy efficiency of my home, I was rudely told "We don't do that." They don't provide maintenance in their own meters? They don't help the community ensure their home is energy efficient? WOW!!! Their suggestion; turn up the thermostat and burn up in your own home. Then, after 3 months of scrimping and saving to keep my electricity going, they shut off my electricity when I was two days late making a $200 payment. When I had called to make the payment and get the power turned back on I was treated as though I owed the whole $1700 and had no intention of paying it. In all of my years serving customers, never have I ever treated someone the way the customer service representives at LP&L treated me. Nor have I ever been treated so poorly for any other establishment. Some real competition would put this company out of business.
